  • Registration for any class or activity is by email or website.

    Once you have chosen the class, activity or Workshop which suits you or your child best, you need to fill out our website form or send an email directly to hello@catvanalearning.com


    1. To provide educational stimulation in English, to children who live in the Garraf area.

    2. To support children in their learning of reading, comprehension and writing skills.   The classes are based on the National Curriculum in England with grammar, spelling and punctuation books as support. We can work with any curriculum, please ask. 

    3. To reinforce the children's exposure to the English language, through music, story, poetry and literature.

    4. To provide an added source of English outside the home in a structured setting. 

    5. To prepare children for entrance exams for schools.

    6. To cater for children studying for GCSE exams or who are struggling with their homework.

    7. Individualised learning for SEND (build a specialised curriculum)

    8. Foster a love of learning.

    9. Teach skills, not just content.

    10. Support children in other subjects like maths, science and business. 

  • Each class is different as it depends on the needs, levels and age of the child. 

    Differentiation of learning.

    Activities are for building understanding in a more active way using a range of auditory, kinaesthetic and visual learning styles. 

    Scaffolding to support so the children build the skills with less and less adult support until they learn them independently .


  • Yes we do. We use a range of resources to build all reading skills. 

    Depending on the age: KS1 Phonics program, KS2 reading and comprehension and KS3 literary analysis, as examples. 

    Built for individual needs.


  • All ages babies to adults.

    1. If practical, speak only English to your child;

    2. Expose them to the language through watching their favourite shows/films in English.

    3. Role-play simple situations in English.

    4. Play board games in English

    5. Join our English fun groups and camps.

  • The classes are entirely run in English.

  • This depends on the age. 

    The groups are no more than 10 children. 

    We do offer 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 etc.

  • All of our teachers are native English Speakers and fully trained and qualified.


  • We offer free trials for the groups and trial days. 

    We do not charge deposits or matriculation (only for the SENtre) 

    With 24h+ notice, lessons are not charged.

  • We have an English Library for all ages. 


  • We can prepare for examinations, but exams are taken externally.


  • Tutoring: Yes, we plan lessons to the level of the child.

    Groups: Our groups are all fun and activity based. The children’s levels are of no consequence as the objective for the groups is communication. We want children to start speaking as this is the biggest problem they face with a new language.

    They are more likely to start using English naturally through activity and play based learning, together.
